Description
This piece is part of a series of unique, handcrafted works, each shaped through an intuitive process and carrying its own distinct character.

The form is compact and weighty, with a dark, granular surface that evokes earth, oxidation, and traces of burning. The material does not appear refined, but rather altered—as if it has undergone time, pressure, and exposure. Gold does not present itself here as shine, but as something that only reveals itself when uncovered.

At its center, a fragment of blue-and-white porcelain emerges, enclosed by an irregular edge of gold. It stands in sharp contrast to the rough exterior—like an image, a memory, pressed out from within the material itself. The fragment carries a visual history that is not fully visible, yet remains undeniably present.

The work refers to the Post-Colonial Gold (PCGPUD) series, in which gold is returned to its origin—not as a symbol of wealth, but as raw material, as a carrier of history and exploitation. In this form, that weight is not softened, but made visible.

An object that holds the tension between what is buried and what is revealed—raw, direct, and inseparably connected to the past.
