ANNELIES NUY PRESENTS 

POST-COLONIAL GOLD

IN WIHH Gallery DURING AFW26

During Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026, artist and designer Annelies Nuy presents Post-Colonial Gold at WIHH Gallery — What Is Happening Here in Amsterdam.

The exhibition opens just two weeks after the gallery’s reopening.

Post-Colonial Gold is a collection of sculptural jewellery conceived as Conversation Pieces. The works explore heritage, ownership, value and cultural memory.

At the centre of the project is one clear statement:

HERITAGE IS NOT PRIVATE

Nuy uses jewellery as more than decoration. Her pieces are designed to be worn, but also to start a conversation about who owns history and who has access to cultural heritage.

The works combine fashion, art and digital technology. Through QR connections, selected pieces can lead to additional stories and immersive digital environments.

Presented during AFW26, Post-Colonial Gold brings these questions directly into the world of contemporary fashion.
