Description

This ring is part of Post-Colonial Gold, a series of unique handcrafted wearable sculptures.

The series explores gold not as a symbol of luxury, status or possession, but as a marker of revaluation. Each object is shaped through an intuitive material process and carries its own form, surface and tension. No two rings are the same.

The rings are compact, sculptural and materially present. Rough, matte, metallic or irregular surfaces are not imperfections, but traces of time, touch and transformation.

Some pieces contain fragments of blue-and-white porcelain, ceramic remains or other embedded material references. These refer to histories of trade, domestic culture, collecting, extraction and displacement. They are not used as decoration, but as carriers of memory.

Within Post-Colonial Gold, value is reconsidered: not only as financial status, but as cultural meaning. The work makes space for material memory, care, embodied knowledge, female ways of seeing and cultural continuity.

Each ring functions as a small conversation piece: a wearable object that connects material, history and the body. Not classical jewellery, but a portable archive of value, shaped as a ring.
