✨ Kintsugi – Embracing Perfect Imperfection

A mindful workshop in the hills of Piemonte

Discover the art of Kintsugi — the Japanese technique of mending broken ceramics with gold. In this workshop, you’ll experience how cracks and fractures can be transformed into something beautiful, valuable, and even stronger than before.

Originating in the 15th century, Kintsugi embraces the idea that repair is not something to hide, but to celebrate. The golden seams become part of the story — a perfect fit with today’s longing for authenticity, imperfection, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

You don’t need any experience — just a bit of curiosity and a plate. (Don’t worry, I have extras.)

🌀 What to Expect

1. Introduction & Inspiration

  • The philosophy of Wabi-Sabi: finding beauty in the imperfect

  • The history of Kintsugi and its relevance today

  • Why repairing something can feel more meaningful than starting from scratch

2. A Moment of Pause

  • Short grounding & relaxation exercise

  • Focus on letting go of perfection

  • Projecting tension onto the object before breaking it (gently)

3. The Process

  • Break your chosen plate or bowl

  • Reassemble the fragments using a special golden Kintsugi glue

  • Learn to work slowly and mindfully — every piece matters

4. Reflection & Expression

  • You’re welcome to give meaning to your creation

  • Share your experience, or simply enjoy the silence

  • You'll leave with a repaired object and a renewed perspective

5. Subtle Benefits

  • Improve fine motor skills

  • Practice mindfulness and patience

  • Learn a metaphor for healing and problem-solving in daily life

✨ The Experience

The workshops take place in the rolling hills of Piemonte, not far from the thermal town of Acqui Terme. A quiet place, surrounded by vineyards and silence, where time slows down.

After booking, you’ll receive the exact location — a hidden studio tucked away in a small hamlet.
Think fresh air, green tea, golden light, and the gentle rhythm of doing something with your hands.

It’s not just a workshop.
It’s a moment out of time.
A memory you’ll take home — sealed in gold.
