Teapot — Aesthetic Obstruction
Teapot — Aesthetic Obstruction
Context
Part of the collection “FinTech Art — Rituals of Value”, also visible in the immersive collection “Art and Updates”, as part of Artivisme Féminin – 100 artists rewriting 500 years of art history.
The series reinterprets everyday objects that carry meanings of unconditionality, safety, loyalty, childlike memory, and protection — turning them into camouflage for contemporary value: cash, crypto, ledger, seed phrases.
Each work critiques the current unstable financial landscape — the fragility of banks, the uncertainty of crypto, the commercialization of art, and the shifting ideas of ownership and trust in a world built on code and dependence.

Concept
The teapot — a symbol of ritual, care, and domestic safety — is reframed into a deliberately unattractive form, too awkward to be desired.
Its awkwardness becomes camouflage, transforming into security.
The shape, ideal as a piggy bank, becomes a vessel of value.
Inside: cash or a seed phrase — sealed and inaccessible.
The form remains familiar, but its meaning collapses: warmth becomes strategy, hospitality becomes defence.
In a world where banks freeze, systems crash, and passwords fail, this object does what institutions promise — to hold, protect, and endure.
Ritual & Reserve turns the illusion of safety into a conscious act of control.
Artist’s Reflection
A symbol of warmth, reprogrammed for survival.
