Kintsugi Repair Artist | Concept Developer | Workshop Facilitator

Profile

Annelies Nuy is an experienced artist, repair artist, and concept developer. She collaborates with leading organizations, museums, and companies at the intersection of heritage, art, and innovation.

Her specialty lies in restoring valuable objects with a Wabi Sabi and Kintsugi philosophy, and in creating experiences where tradition, reflection, healing, and renewal come together. Her projects are stylish, meaningful, and always tailor-made.

Annelies combines craftsmanship with a visionary approach to future trends, new technologies, and AI — building bridges between the analog and digital worlds.

Education

Annelies Nuy graduated from ArtEZ University of the Arts in 1997 as the first graduate in Fashion & Technology. She was a pioneer in combining digital technology with fashion and created one of the first fashion websites.

Since then, she has consistently applied innovation, new technologies, and AI across art, design, and heritage projects.

Clients

Annelies has delivered projects and workshops for, among others:

TU Delft, Spotify, Netflix, Booking.com, Médecins Sans Frontières, homeless projects in Amsterdam, International Team Bikram Yoga, Heineken, The Balvenie, and individuals.

Her sessions often focus on bonding, embracing mistakes, and the art of repair — in teams, families, and with international visitors in Amsterdam. Her approach is always custom-designed: from exclusive creative sessions to programs that help address sensitive topics in a constructive and solution-oriented way.

Repair Artist & Exhibitions

Annelies is active as a repair artist, with a passion for Delftware and for exploring the link between ceramics and the evolution of the city of Amsterdam.

She restores ceramics using the Japanese Kintsugi technique, giving each piece a second life while honoring its emotional value and original craftsmanship.

Her work has been featured internationally, including at Winterthur (Switzerland), where she was invited to present her vision on repair and craftsmanship.

Immersive Exhibitions & Innovation

Annelies is the founder and curator of immersive exhibitions that merge analog and digital experiences.

Her most recent project combines 500 years of women’s art history with immersive technology to create a space for dialogue, reflection, and future thinking.

She explores how new technologies, including AI, can enrich artistic expression and connect generations. Her expertise in future trends, fashion, and technology allows her to develop concepts where heritage meets the cutting edge, inspiring audiences and institutions to see tradition in a new light.

Delftware Reframed

In her collection “Delftware Reframed”, Annelies offers a contemporary interpretation of the iconic Delft Blue.

Fragments and motifs are reassembled into art objects that open dialogue about heritage and modernity.

The collection is available for:
