A forgotten duo — revived without apology.
This side table with built-in rack and its sculptural candelabra once spoke the language of domestic function. Somewhere between mid-century hobby design and nostalgic utility, they were never meant to be seen. Until now.
Coated in a radical Yves Klein blue, their familiar forms are transformed. The table’s humble practicality becomes poetic; the ten-arm candelabra, once ornamental clutter, becomes a silhouette of sculptural tension.
This is not redesign. This is reframing.
🔵 Reframed, not Repurposed
Where once was kitsch, now stands clarity. No elements have been removed, corrected, or streamlined. Every detail remains — and that is the point. Like a ghost of another time made visible through colour, this object does not pretend to be new. It becomes more itself.
Part of an ongoing series of domestic relics — overlooked, overdone, or simply outdated — reawakened through the single, spiritual gesture of monochrome ultramarine. Rendered in Yves Klein blue, the objects shift category: from accessory to sculpture. From functional to iconic.
♻️ Circularity as Concept
We call it “reframed” because these objects are not erased. Their past lives remain visible — celebrated, even. Their flaws, patina, and odd proportions are all intact. But now, they are seen through the lens of artistic context and intentional colour.
What began as practical becomes conceptual. What once faded into the background now demands presence.
This set is a meditation on visibility, value, and the latent power of form.
🌿 Provenance
Discovered in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, in a disused guesthouse among neglected furniture from the late 20th century. Once painted in imitation woodgrain, now completely resurfaced in Yves Klein blue.
Transformed in 2025 as part of the Wunder Kammer Collection.
